BJP MPs from Andhra Pradesh pushes for merger of RINL with SAIL
VISAKHAPATNAM: The newly elected MPs of BJP on Wednesday met Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy in New Delhi and they have submitted a representation for merger of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) to improve its physical and financial performance
BJP state president and MP-elect Daggubati Purandeswari, Anakapalle MP CM Ramesh, Minister of State (Mos) for Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma and BJP’s Sagi Kasi Viswanatha Raju met HD Kumaraswamy and brought the merger idea to his notice.

The BJP’s MP from Andhra Pradesh formed a team and prepared an action plan for making RINL as profit and pride. They explained to Kumaraswamy that RINL was set up in Vizag city following a sustainable struggle by people as part of Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku. The steel plant had provided large employment and played a key role in development of Vizag city industrially, they added.
The team appealed to the minister Kumaraswamy to consider the merger of RINL with SAIL for the bright future of the steel plant. Responding positively for the recommendation of the MPs, Kumaraswamy expressed that they will take a decision on RINL after a series of meetings with officials and he assured the MPs for one more meeting on RINL after two months.
