Kudachi Constituency Election Results: Assembly seat details, MLAs, candidates & more

Kudachi is a legislative assembly constituency located in the Belagavi district of Karnataka.
The constituency, which covers Kudachi taluk and parts of Raybag taluk, has a total population of around 3.5 lakh people, with a literacy rate of 67.22%. The region is primarily an agricultural area.

The seat was a stronghold of the Congress but in the 2018 assembly polls, the BJP’s P.Rajeev defeated the Congress’s Amit Shama Ghatage by over 15,000 votes.
The constituency has around 2 lakh voters, of which 1.03 lakh are male and 95,000 are female. In the 2018 state elections, the voter turnout in the constituency was around 80%.
Kudachi has a number of ancient temples and monuments. The most famous of these is the Kudachi Mahalaxmi temple, which is believed to be over 600 years old.

The Election Commission has announced that single-phase polls will be held in Karnataka on May 10. The results will be declared on May 13.
There are a total of 224 seats in Karnataka. It is the seventh largest legislative assembly by strength.
In the 2018 assembly polls, the state threw up a fractured mandate with BJP emerging as the single largest party with 104 seats. The Congress won 87 seats while the JD(S) won 30.
The BJP managed to form the government only after several MLAs from the ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition joined the saffron party.
The BJP faces anti-incumbency in a state where no party has won consecutive terms in over 20 years. The Congress is banking on BJP’s “incumbency burden” and is confident that the corruption charges against its opponent Basavaraj Bommai will stick.
