Malleshwaram Constituency Election Results: Assembly seat details, MLAs, candidates & more
Malleshwaram assembly constituency is one of the 224 constituencies in the Karnataka legislative assembly of the southern state of India. It is a part of Bengaluru Urban district and comes under Bengaluru North parliamentary constituency.
In 2023, Malleshwaram will witness a contest between Uttkarsh from JD(S) vs Anup Iyengar from INC vs Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayana from BJP.
The winning party must have 113 seats to form the government in the state out of 224 seats.The elections will commence on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13.
In 2018, Dr. Ashwath Narayan CN of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat by defeating Kengal Shreepadharenu of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 54,000 votes.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate D.v. Sadananda Gowda won from Bangalore North Lok Sabha (MP) aeat with a margin of 1,47,518 votes by defeating Krishna Byregowda of the Congress party.
Back in 2013, the constituency had a total of 1,73,755 electors. The total number of valid votes was 1,08,299.
BJP candidate Dr Ashwath Narayan CN won and became an MLA from the seat. He had secured a total of 57,609 votes.
Congress candidate BK Shivaram stood second with a total of 36,543 votes.
The voter turnout for 2019 Parliament election was 58.02% . The voter turnout on 2018 assembly election was 56.49% .
It is one of the oldest localities of the city that was planned in 1889. The constituency plays host to noteworthy landmarks, including IISc creating world class scientists, innumerable places of religious worship, several parks and Sankey tank, local markets and street shops on tree lined Sampige and Margosa roads.
