Tripura assembly election news: BJP poll manifesto awaits Amit Shah’s nod
AGARTALA: Union home minister Amit Shah and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma are on Monday night scheduled to hold discussions with BJP core committee members and senior leaders of Tripura on the party's election manifesto and strategy to thwart the CPM-Congress combine.
All the major parties have already released their election manifestos criticising the five-year vision document of BJP, which was announced by the then finance minister Arun Jaitley before the 2018 assembly polls.
The party had promised 50,000 jobs every year and 298 other incentives, but the opposition alleged that none of the commitments were fulfilled so far. BJP sources said besides the election rallies at Khowai and Santirbazar followed by a roadshow in Agartala, Shah will sit with CM Manik Saha, deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, party state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other top leaders accompanied by Sarma to finalise the manifesto and other poll issues.
“Most of the promises of our vision documents were implemented, including pay matrix of the 7th Pay Commission, hiking monthly social pension to Rs 2,000, providing houses to 3.8 lakh families, drinking water to 53% housesholds,” information minister Sushanta Chowdhury said.
