Jaipur election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Manju Sharma wins against Congress's Pratap Singh Khachariyawas
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Manju Sharma has defeated Congress candidate Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Jaipur.
While Manju Sharma got 8,86,850 votes, Pratap Singh managed to get only 5,55,083 votes.
The Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency has consistently demonstrated a preference for the BJP and Swatantra parties, while showing a significant bias against the Congress party.
This inclination can be attributed to the strong backing from the Rajput community and the influence of Maharani Gayatri Devi, who founded the Swatantra Party.
The constituency, which comprises 8 legislative assemblies, participated in the first phase of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on April 19. The Lok Sabha Election 2024 witnessed a voter turnout of 63.38%.
The prominent candidates contesting in the Jaipur constituency for this election are Manju Sharma, representing the Bhartiya Janta Party, and Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from the Indian National Congress.

Similarly, in the 2014 elections, Ramcharan Bohara of the BJP secured 8,59,973 votes, outperforming Dr Mahesh Joshi of the INC by a margin of 5,36,942 votes.
The constituency's political landscape has been dominated by the BJP, the Swatantra Party, and various other political groups, reflecting the dynamic nature of Rajasthan's political arena.
