Sreelekha Mitra is riding high right now. The actress is currently working on a Hindi series helmed by the acclaimed filmmaker Sudhir Mishra. An experience that humbled me all the more. #hazaronkhwaisheinaisi maker, you fulfilled my khwaish of honing my craft all the more. #actor #grateful #myreligionoflove.”

Sudhir Mishra, well-known for films like ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, 'Dharavi', and ‘Chameli’, is the showrunner for the upcoming series ‘Children of Freedom’. The story of the series is based around a group in their mid-20s in 1977 who experience the first government crackdown of their lifetimes, Jazz City ’71, which is about the Bangladesh liberation war and billed by Khan as ‘the only war of language’, and India’s First Election, about how despite massive illiteracy after Indian independence in 1947, a democratic election was held.

The series stars Rajat Kapoor, Vivaan Shah, Swaroopa Ghosh, and Aditya Bhattacharya, among others. Sreelekha shared a photo on social media where she is seen dining with her co-stars. Sreelekha Mitra is one of the most popular and well-known faces in the Bengali entertainment industry. The actress stays in the limelight for her straightforward nature and bold choices in her career. Sreelekha prioritizes quality over quantity, and that reflects in her body of work. However, the actress has been getting a lot less work in Tollywood, and she blames the internal politics for it. Sreelekha says the Hindi entertainment industry has a lot of scope, a lot more exposure, and it also values talent over lobbies. Sreelekha has worked with Bejoy Nambiar in ‘Kaala’. Will the actress be seen more in Hindi projects from now on? Time will tell. But Sreelekha is happy and grateful that, despite not having a manager or PRs handling her, she has been able to work with a stalwart like Sudhir Mishra.
