Actress Akansha Ranjan, who is best known for
Monica O My Darling, in a recent conversation spoke to us about the importance of auditioning. “Auditions are very grounding. That also helps me as a person, I am very self aware (because of them),” she says. She further adds, “I gave an audition the day before Monika released... Now I feel I have aced auditions and I feel like a seasoned actor.
It doesn’t unnerve me anymore, but it is not fun to audition. But it taught me so much. I have actor friends who have never given auditions, so now when they are called for screen tests, they are taken aback. But auditions helped me in my career.”
‘Losing Kabir Singh and Student of the Year 2 was heartbreaking’Akansha’s first audition was for “
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil” which marked the debut of Armaan Jain. While Akansha did not bag the movie, she continued auditioning. Ask her if there are any projects that she felt bad for not cracking, and she names Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s
Kabir Singh and Karan Johar’s
Student of the Year 2. “Student of the Year 2, because who wouldn’t want a launch like that! I was auditioning for Ananya (Pandey, actress)’s role. And the other one was
Kabir Singh. Those two were so heartbreaking. I remember watching
Arjun Reddy, preparing for it, and I knew this role is mine. And sometimes you just know it in your bones. I knew this was the one. And it didn’t happen. I was heartbroken. Interestingly, when Kabir Singh was releasing, I did the movie with Kiara (Advani, actress),” Akansha elaborates.
