Audience support is needed for Gujarati films to do well: Hiten Kumar
Gujarati films have been hitting the headlines for all the right reasons, still most of them are unable to make a mark at the BO, and popular actor Hiten Kumar feels that unless Gujarati audience support Gujarati films, it will be difficult for the industry to do well.
He says, "All those regional film industries that are doing well enjoy a huge loyal audience that takes pride in watching their regional films.
That is not the case in Gujarat. Our audience needs to support our films for the industry to do well."
Hiten also feels that the industry is doing all it can to revive itself, and a number of good films are being made, but all efforts will go in vain if the audience doesn't come in numbers to watch the films in theatres. Hiten, who was in Ahmedabad recently to promote his upcoming film Jalsaghar, adds, "Gujarati films are mostly the last priority. I urge the Gujarati audience to go and watch the films in theatres so that the producers get their return."
