Currently Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya's starrer 'Dune 2' is running in packed houses across the globe but when it comes to India, the film seems to be losing ground rapidly, thanks to box office competition. 'Dune 2' is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 book Dune and in its first week, the film managed to earn Rs 16.67 crore.
On Friday, the film earned just Rs 46 lakh with only Rs 2 lakh coming from the Hindi version.
However, on Saturday, 'Dune 2' showed a jump by collecting Rs 78 lakhs with Rs 3 lakhs coming from Hindi, reports sacnilk. Though the jump on Saturday was about 68 percent, it would be difficult from here on for 'Dune 2' to keep up the momentum. This is not just because of local competition with films like 'Shaitaan' and 'Article 370', but also because next week 'Kung Fu Panda 4' is releasing in India and it has already earned $55 million in the US .
