Mohra turns 30: Do you know that THIS was the reason Raveena Tandon initially did not want to do the movie?

When asked if Raveena was not comfortable stepping into Divya Bharti's (who had passed away) role, Shabbir said, "stepping into Divya Bharti role was not the reason, and when Divya was doing the film, she was a star by then, and we did not tweak the script at all to suit her. It was the same that we had written when Divya was doing it.''
Mohra turns 30: Do you know that THIS was the reason Raveena Tandon initially did not want to do the movie?
Not many know that Raveena Tandon was reluctant to do the film Mohra, that recently turned 30 on July 1. The action-thriller drama, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, was a runaway success at the box office, with hit chartbusters like 'Tu cheez', and 'Subah se lekar shaam tak'.

Screenplay writer and producer Shabbir Boxwala tells us why Raveena was initially hesistant.
He said, "We really don't know the exact reason, maybe because both Suniel and Akshay were new. Also were a little bit of sensuous scenes in the film.''

Mohra was the second highest grosser in 1994, after Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, so is there is a chance of a
sequel? To this, Boxwala replied, "Not as yet we don't have a script. '' Shabbir attributed the success to the two new boys, Akshay and Suniel. "The music and people loved the film and the Naseeruddin Shah part was a big surprise for them. Everything fell into place, and they were very good and hardworking boys. They used to be on sets at 6 am well rehearsed and had major contribution in the success of the film.''

Coming back to Raveena Tandon, Boxwala said, " Raveena didn't want to do any kissing scenes. Only in the tip tip barsa song, she gives a peck on Akshay's cheek when he carries her. We had not planned anything. The song was like that, and because it was a rain song, you obviously had to look sensuous. She did it very well; it was a big booster to the film and is being reused in films even today.''
