Shantanu Maheshwari, who shot to fame with his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ recently shared a delightful anecdote about his co-star, Alia Bhatt.
Though the making of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, was a journey filled with intense performances, intricate sets, and meticulous attention to detail, something that put Shantanu at ease was Alia Bhatt’s kind gesture.
Talking to Filmygyan, Shantanu Maheshwari recalled a lighter moment that stands out in his memory—teaching Alia Bhatt how to shuffle cards.
He fondly recalled how Alia approached him one day on set and asked him to teach her to shuffle cards. Shantanu acknowledged that he felt she already knew how to shuffle, but deliberately asked him, to make him feel comfortable and at ease.
The young actor recently also spoke about how ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ changed his career graph. In an interview with India Today, Shantanu expressed that the film's success brought him recognition from both the industry and critics, boosting his confidence. He also added that it made him realize his acting potential, feeling validated by being chosen by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shantanu will next be seen in ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, which is set to release on July 5.

Alia Bhatt on the other hand, was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ alongside Ranveer Singh. She will be next seen in Vasan Bala's ‘Jigra’ alongside Vedang Raina. The film is slated for release on October 11, 2024.
