Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have been a power couple since their marriage in 2007. The former Miss World broke many hearts when she decided to marry actor Abhishek Bachchan. They fell in love with the sets of Dhoom 2. While shooting for Guru, Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya, and the rest is history.
They welcomed parenthood in 2011 with the birth of their daughter, Aradhya Bachchan.
Their wedding was highly talked about and was one of the top events of that year, and naturally, it was covered in great detail by the media.
When an event as grand as this is happening, it’s very natural to have various rumors around it. So there were many rumors revolving around the details related to the wedding. But one of the craziest ones was where people thought that Aish got married to a tree before getting married to Abhishek.

However, the actress clarified the rumors in a conversation with NDTV in 2008. In the interview, Aishwarya revealed how people thought there was a curse on her and the media’s role in adding juicy gossip about her. Aishwarya also revealed that it was the head of the family, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, who addressed the media after the wedding was over.
The former Miss World had said, “Yes, there was so much of that. I just thought it was so unnecessary. To dedicate the kind of prime time, the kind of newsprint, and the kind of magazine cover stories for all of that was very unnecessary. The wonderful part was that, as a family, we are solid. We are all in the public eye, and we have ample opportunity to voice ourselves, but instead of adding to the bin, we decided to have the father of the family... Paa did meet the media at a very decided point in time, way after the wedding, and answered all the queries.”

In 2007, Amitabh Bachchan told The Times of India that he and his family weren’t superstitious at all and hadn’t even seen Aishwarya’s janampatri. He had said, “Where is the tree? Please show it to me. The only person she’s married to is my son. Unless you think Abhishek is a tree.”
