In a recently surfaced viral video, the Heeramandi actress recalled her fond memories of being on the sets of the iconic film as a child and admiring Aishwarya Rai.

In the video posted on Reddit, Sharmin admitted that she enjoyed being with Aishwarya and would compete to sit on her lap.
In the video, Sharmin revealed that she was four years old when she was on the sets of Devdas. She recalled moving around the props and wanting to sit on Aishwarya's lap, repeatedly requesting her mother to let her sit there. She expressed a clear preference, stating that she didn’t want to sit in Shah Rukh's lap but only in Aishwarya’s lap.
Sharmin later assisted Bhansali on Bajirao Mastani. In an interview with News18, she mentioned that she had the opportunity to work on
Ram-Leela too, but she felt she wasn't ready to work with him back then.
She mentioned that she had the opportunity to work on Ram-Leela, but she didn't feel ready to assist Sanjay Leela Bhansali at that time. Being new to filmmaking, she decided to observe and learn on the sets of Mary Kom first. She wanted to gain experience and knowledge before considering assisting Bhansali on a project.
She further mentioned that the first film she assisted her father on was Bajirao Mastani, but her first experience as an assistant was on Mary Kom. While working on Mary Kom, her father was shooting for Ram-Leela. She had informed him that she wanted to work in films despite knowing nothing about them. Her journey in the film industry has been one of learning and growth, marked by her determination to gain experience before taking on more significant responsibilities. Sharmin's early interactions on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies have clearly left a lasting impression, influencing her path in the world of cinema.
