The connection between Busan and the Pedro film team continues. After Pedro's premiere at Busan, Natesh Hegde is set to head to the Korean city once again, this time even before his second film has gone on floors. His second project has been selected for the co-production market at the festival.
Natesh reveals, “The film, titled Vaghachi Pani (Tiger’s Pond), is loosely based on a couple of stories written by Amaresh Nugadoni.
It is not an adaptation, but takes inspiration from these stories. We are elated that the film has been selected for the co-production market at the film festival in Busan.”
Most of the cast and crew are from Pedro, including the makers, with some new additions. “I am a very big fan of Rangayana Raghu and I feel he has a lot of potential that is yet to be tapped. I had wanted to work with him from the start. Apart from that, since I was very comfortable with my Pedro team, I chose to continue with them. We have Raj B Shetty, Gopal Hegde and Gopalkrishna Deshpande as part of the cast. Rishab Shetty is backing this film as well,” shares Natesh.
When do they plan to begin filming? “We aim to get an international name onboard and then take it forward. The film is set against the backdrop of winter and we hope to get all of this completed by then. It will again be set in my hometown, Ummachagi,” says Natesh.
