Vijayalakshmi Darshan who is the
wife of Kannada actor
Darshan Thoogudeepa, recently addressed the media to clarify the nature of her husband's relationship with Pavithra Gowda. Both Darshan and Pavithra were arrested in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, which shocked the Kannada film industry and led to widespread speculation and misinformation.
In a letter to the Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Vijayalakshmi wrote, "You made a wrong statement during a press conference, saying Pavithra Gowda is Darshan's wife. This error was repeated by the Karnataka Home Minister and national media, reporting that the Darshan couple was arrested in the Renukaswamy murder casr"
She highlighted that she is the only legally wedded wife of Darshan Thoogudeepa. She addressed the rumours head-on, asserting that Pavithra Gowda, who is the primary accused in the murder case, is not Darshan's wife.
Vijayalakshmi explained that while Pavithra is a friend of her husband, she is not married to him. She pointed out that she and Darshan were married in Dharamshala on May 19, 2003, and she remains his only legal spouse. She stressed the importance of correcting the misinformation to prevent any future legal or personal complications for herself and her son.
In her letter, Vijayalakshmi revealed that Pavithra Gowda was allegedly married to a man named Sanjay Singh and has a daughter with him. This detail further dispels the rumours linking Pavithra romantically to Darshan. Vijayalakshmi urged the authorities to update the records accurately to reflect these facts.
The controversy began when Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on June 11 for his alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, had reportedly sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda, who is Darshan's co-star and friend. This seems to not sit well with the "Challenging Star", who allegedly with his accomplices tortured and then ultimately killed Renukaswamy.
Vijayalakshmi also expressed her confidence in the judiciary and her belief that the law will take its course. She conveyed her trust in the legal system to uncover the truth and deliver justice.
