Anoop Menon wishes Mammootty on his birthday, also talks about the superstar’s penchant for watches

In the world of cinema, few names resonate as powerfully as Mammootty. A living legend, Mammootty has enthralled audiences for decades with his exceptional talent and versatility. Mammootty turned 72 today (Sep 7), and on the special occasion, actor-scenarist Anoop Menon spoke about the superstar’s profound love for luxury timepieces.
Anoop Menon shared an anecdote about Mammootty's fascination with watches.During his visit to a watch store in Dubai, last year, one of the senior staff members of the store mentioned about a South Indian superstar who used to search for watches such as IWC and Patek in the old BurJuman Centre during the early '90s. The salesperson expressed amazement at the superstar's extensive knowledge and passion for watches, surpassing even that of affluent Sheikhs. Although the salesperson couldn't recall the superstar's name, he described him as an extraordinarily handsome individual. Anoop Menon indicated that he did not want to risk a mispronunciation of the name from the salesperson and was confident that it could be none other than Mammootty. Anoop Menon also extended his birthday wishes to the superstar and dropped a photograph, which was taken in 1993.
In a note shared on Facebook, Anoop Menon said, “Last year when I went to a watch store in Dubai one of the senior staffs told me about a south Indian superstar who would hunt for watches like IWC and Patek in the good old burjman centre during early 90s… the sales guy stood amazed at the knowledge and passion the actor had about watches that even the affluent sheikhs didn't… he couldn't remember the superstars name but said he was an insanely handsome guy ... I didn't want a mispronounced name from him… I knew it cant be any other..happy birthday mamukka... your infinite grace, perseverance, determination, the acquired but adroit skills,makes you walk miles ahead all of us in every sphere worth aspiring..( this pic was taken in 93 by dear sSreeramettan and look at the shirt he is spotted in)...”
