Malayalam actor Leona Lishoy, in her latest social media post, opened up about being diagnosed with stage 2 endometriosis two years ago. In her note, Leona Lishoy spoke about how the condition has affected her both mentally and physically, and also asked women to stop ignoring severe menstrual cramps, as it might have other underlying reasons.
“Life is beautiful.
Life is painful. Most of the time, its both! Two years since I was diagnosed of endometriosis (Stage II). Two years of awful pains, endo bloats and every tiny things that made a normal life almost impossible. Living with endometriosis has been very challenging and, is an ongoing process. But I believe I’ve come a long way- from feeling absolutely clueless about my physical and mental health to enduring this dreadful journey of accepting the changes in my body and mind, of course with the help of my family and closest friends 🥹❤️. One of the main symptoms of endometriosis is severe periods pain. I urge the women who are reading this to understand- severe periods pain is NOT okay, it is NOT normal !! Please consult a doctor. #july15 #endometriosis #shitisreal #throwbackpicture (sic),” Leona Lishoy said in her note.
