Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju’s ‘Kakkipada’ release postponed

Makers postponed the release of the upcoming Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju starrer ‘Kakkipada’ which was scheduled to hit the big screens on December 23 this year. The director Shebi Chowgat officially announced the release date change via his official Facebook handle.

‘Kakkipada’ director took to his official Facebook handle and penned a note that read, “Merry Christmas to all my loved ones.We sincerely wanted to bring out ‘Kakkipada’ on screens this Christmas, but regrettably, there have been some technical hurdles in doing so. The name of one of the characters in the film had to be changed as per the demands of the Censor Board. As the name of that specific character is mentioned in many places by other characters, everything had to be re-dubbed.”

The director further mentioned in his Facebook note that some of the actors were staying abroad and had to come back for the re-dub. The film will be only available in the theatres after the re-censor and re-dubbing.
The director’s post further read, “Thanks to the likes of the Censor Board for pointing out the issue with the character's name in a very positive manner. It is indeed a humane thing to take care that men should not be hurt even by a name, and we owe it to the loved ones who have supported it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Team Khakipada”
Meanwhile, ‘Kakkipada’ features several talented actors such as Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Appani Sarath, Aaradhika, Sujith Shankar, Manikandan R Achari, James Eliya, and Sajimon Parayil.
