'Kalki 2898 AD,' one of this year's most anticipated releases, has made a massive impact at the box office. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this dystopian epic stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, and has captivated audiences worldwide.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film earned Rs. 22.3 crore on its second Thursday, bringing its total to an impressive Rs.
414.25 crore. This sci-fi extravaganza, featuring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, is enjoying a phenomenal run in theatres. In just eight days, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has surpassed Rs. 400 crore net at the domestic box office.
The film's success isn't limited to India; it is rapidly approaching a global gross of Rs. 800 crore and is likely to reach this milestone by the end of the weekend making it a mega-budget blockbuster. The Telugu version of the movie recorded a 36.92 percent occupancy rate on July 4.

'Kalki 2898 AD' is in a dystopian future, offering a gripping narrative and stunning visuals that have resonated with viewers. The story is set 6000 years after the Mahabharata war of Kurukshetra, in a world oppressed by dark forces. Prabhas plays Bhairava, a relentless bounty hunter, while Deepika Padukone stars as Sumathi (SUM-80), a pregnant test subject. Amitabh Bachchan takes on the role of Ashwatthama, a character rooted in the Mahabharata, and Kamal Haasan portrays the menacing supreme leader, Yaskin.

Despite its grand saga, the film's story is far from complete. The filmmakers have confirmed that a second instalment is in the works. They revealed that around 60% of 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 2' has already been filmed, with major portions still to be shot. However, the release date for the sequel has not yet been decided.
