Minor drowns in river in Jammu’s Nowshera, another critical
JAMMU: A 15-year-old boy died and another was in a critical condition after they went far too deep in Munawer river in Jammu’s Nowshera on Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred on the riverside near Sports Stadium of Nowshera. Police identified the deceased as Amandeep Singh from Chouki Nowshera. His father runs a bakery.
Police said three minor boys went to the riverside as it was very hot in the day but two of them slipped into the depths.
Hearing their cries for help, locals rushed to their aid. "The duo was rushed to the Sub-Divisional Hospital at Nowshera where doctors declared one of the minors dead, " a cop said.
The injured boy Nakshpreet Singh, 15, was referred to GMC in Rajouri for advanced treatment.
