NEW DELHI: Dileshwar Kamait of the Janata Dal (United) party emerged victorious, securing 5,95,038 votes, which was 1,69,803 more than the runner-up candidate. Chandrahas Chaupal of the Rashtriya Janata Dal party came in second place with 4,25,235 votes, falling short by 1,69,803 votes.
Several independent candidates and representatives from various parties also contested the election but failed to secure a significant number of votes.Baidya Nath Mehta, an independent candidate, received 51,652 votes, while Yog Narayan Singh and Vindeshwari Prasad, also independents, obtained 27,454 and 18,457 votes, respectively. Kiran Devi from the Bahujan Samaj Party secured 18,079 votes.
Other candidates, including Mohd. Kalim Khan from the Rashtriya Jansambhavna Party, Umesh Prasad Sah from the Jai Hind Party, Raj Kumar Yadav from the Viro Ke Vir Indian Party, and Ramesh Kumar Anand from the Proutist Bloc, India, received votes ranging from 7,000 to 14,000. Independent candidates Abdul Matin, Bambam Kumar, Nitish Kumar, and Ajay Kumar Sah obtained between 3,000 and 7,000 votes each. Shiv Hari Agrawal from the Bharat Nirman Party secured 3,772 votes.
Additionally, the "None of the Above" (NOTA) option received 18,612 votes.
In the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the Supaul constituency went to the polls on May 7, 2024, as part of phase 3. Situated in Bihar, Supaul constitutes one of the 40 parliamentary seats in the state, holding a general category parliamentary seat status and boasting a literacy rate of 45.58%.
From this constituency, the key contenders were Chandrahas Chaupal from the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Dileshwar Kamait from the Janata Dal (United), and Kiran Devi from the Bahujan Samaj Party.

In the 2019 elections, Dileshwar Kamait of the Janata Dal (United) emerged victorious with 596,807 votes, securing 53.8% of the votes. The runner-up was Ranjeet Ranjan of the Indian National Congress, who secured 330,258 votes, accounting for 29.8% of the votes.
In the 2014 elections, Ranjeet Ranjan of the Indian National Congress won the Lok Sabha election by securing 332,925 votes, capturing 35.1% of the votes. The runner-up was Dileshwar Kamait of the Janata Dal (United), who secured 273255 votes, accounting for 28.8% of the votes.
