NEW DELHI: An Air India flight, AI-807 from Delhi was forced to return to the airport due to a suspected fire in the plane's air conditioning system. The aircraft was carrying 175 passengers at the time of the incident.
According to a Delhi airport official, "The flight landed safely at 6.38 PM."
An Air India spokesperson issued a statement regarding the incident stating that the Air India flight, AI807, which was en route from Delhi to Bengaluru, had to return to Delhi this evening due to a fire warning from its auxiliary power unit.
The pilots followed the required protocols and the aircraft landed safely without any incidents. All passengers and crew members disembarked the plane at the aerobridge without any harm.
"Air India accords top priority to the safety and well-being of its passengers." The ground staff of the airline has made necessary arrangements for the passengers to continue their journey to their intended destination as soon as possible, according to the statement.
