NEW DELHI: England, the defending champions, are determined to secure a convincing victory against Namibia on Saturday to maintain their chances of advancing to the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage. Despite a washout against Scotland and a defeat to Australia, England bounced back impressively with an eight-wicket triumph over Oman.
England's comprehensive win over Oman, dismissing them for a mere 47 runs and chasing down the target in just 3.1 overs, has significantly boosted their net run rate (NRR) to +3.08, surpassing Scotland's +2.16.

However, with Scotland currently on five points compared to England's three, the former two-time champions must defeat Namibia to draw level with Scotland and hope for an Australian victory over the Scots. In this scenario, England's superior NRR would secure their place in the Super Eight stage.
Nonetheless, an upset win by Scotland over Australia or a washout at Gros Islet would eliminate England from the tournament.

Captain Jos Buttler exuded confidence following their resounding victory over Oman, stating, "I've been around long enough to know how it works. We know what's going on in the dressing room. We have lots of confidence in our team and we have another huge match to come."
The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium pitch has offered steep bounce and turn, which England's bowlers, such as leg-spinner Adil Rashid (4/11) and the pace duo of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood (both 3/12), exploited effectively to dismiss Oman for the fourth-lowest total in T20 World Cup history.

Buttler will be hoping to win the toss once more to unleash his bowlers against the relatively inexperienced Namibian side, who were bowled out for just 72 in their previous encounter with Australia.
ENG vs NAM match details
England (ENG) and Namibia (NAM) are set to face off in the 34th match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The game is scheduled to commence on June 15 at 10:30 PM IST.
ENG vs NAM head to head:
This will be the first-ever T20I encounter between England and Namibia.
ENG vs NAM pitch report:
The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is expected to offer a balanced playing surface, with bowlers likely to find assistance from the pitch when using the new ball. Batsmen, on the other hand, may need to exercise patience and spend some time at the crease before attempting to play their shots freely.
ENG vs NAM Ground history
The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound has hosted two matches in the T20 World Cup 2024. Teams batting second have had more success, winning three out of the two matches. The average first innings score is 111, while the average second innings score is 113. The highest total recorded at this ground is 153/3 by Scotland against Oman, while the lowest total recorded is 47/10 by Oman against England.
ENG vs NAM fantasy insights
Based on the pitch report, England is expected to dominate their upcoming clash. If England bowls first, consider selecting two or three of their powerplay bowlers for your fantasy XI. If England bats first, middle-order batters from their team could be great Captain or Vice-Captain options.
ENG vs NAM key players:
1. Jonny Bairstow: The hard-hitting English middle-order batsman, had a challenging outing against Australia in the previous match. However, he showcased promising form during the recently concluded IPL 2024. Bairstow will be eager to rediscover his touch and contribute significantly to his team's comeback efforts.
2. Jofra Archer: The English pace spearhead, is expected to lead the bowling attack with the new ball. Given the assistance that bowlers have received from the pitch and Archer's raw pace, the combination could prove to be a formidable challenge for the Namibian batsmen. As such, Archer presents an excellent choice for the C or VC role in fantasy contests.
3. Adil Rashid: The English leg-spinner, found his rhythm in the previous game against Oman. With his confidence restored, Rashid could be a valuable asset for fantasy teams, potentially delivering substantial returns.
