Thousands of cricket enthusiasts from India and Pakistan descended upon New York on Sunday to witness their team's T20 World Cup match, bringing a taste of the subcontinent to a place where the sport is new.
Fans traveled from far and wide to attend the game at the 34,000-seat temporary Nassau County Cricket Stadium, which was constructed in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, Long Island, and was sold out.
When Sachin Tendulkar was introduced to the fans during the pre-game interviews, there was a huge roar.
