AHMEDABAD: Last year's runners-up
Gujarat Titans were on Monday knocked out of the IPL 2024 after their penultimate match against table-toppers
Kolkata Knight Riders was called off (at 10.36 pm) because of persistent rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Titans (11 from 13 matches) and Knight Riders (19 from 13 matches) shared the points. The no-result means
KKR have confirmed a top two spot while the Titans can only accumulate a maximum of 13 points (even if they win their last match against
Sunrisers Hyderabad), a possibility that ruled out a top-four finish for them.
Earlier, the city witnessed dust storms and a gust of wind resulting in low visibility in the evening. This was followed by persistent spells of rain throughout the night, rendering the playing area unplayable. Water puddles were formed near the 30-yard circle.
