NEW DELHI: German police fired shots at an individual who threatened them with a pickaxe and an incendiary device during a Euro 2024 football fan parade in central Hamburg.
The information was shared on a police social media post on platform X.

The confrontation took place in Hamburg's St Pauli district as Poland and the Netherlands are set to compete at the Volksparkstadion at 3 p.m.
(1300 GMT).
Fan marches were planned before the games, with a parade for Dutch fans occurring at 12:30 p.m. (1030 GMT), around the same time as the incident.
Germany is the host of the month-long Euro 2024 tournament, which started on Friday night.
