How to change Aadhaar card photo


Step 1: Start by visiting the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in/en/.

Step 2: Once on the homepage, download the Aadhaar enrolment form and print it out.
Step 3: Complete the form by filling in all the required details.
Step 4: Head to your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra and submit the filled application form to the designated officials.
Step 5: Provide your biometric information.
Step 6: The officials will take your live photograph.
You will be given an acknowledgment slip containing an Update Request Number (URN).

Update Aadhaar card photo: Important points to remember


  • No supporting documents are required to update the photo on your Aadhaar card.
  • The executive will capture your photo on-site, so you don't need to bring one.
  • Do note that the Aadhaar information may take up to ninety days to be updated.
  • You can monitor the progress of your Aadhaar update online using the URN provided on the acknowledgment slip.
  • The Self-Service Update Portal (SSUP) does not support the online process for changing the photo on an Aadhaar card.

Download Aadhaar card after photo update


To download your Aadhaar Card after updating the photo, follow these steps:
  • Visit the official UIDAI website: UIDAI
  • Go to the "My Aadhaar" tab and choose "Download Aadhaar."
  • Provide your Aadhaar Number and the captcha code.
  • Click on the "Send OTP" button.
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP and log in.
  • Click the "Download Aadhaar" button to download your updated Aadhaar Card.

Finally, print out the downloaded Aadhaar Card.
