Actor Satyam Bhattacharya to feature in ‘Eken Babu’ series

The ‘Eken Babu’ series, based on late author Sujan Dasgupta’s novel, is ready for its seventh season. Starring actor Anirban Chakraborti in the titular role, the series will feature a number of prominent actors from Tollywood and one of them is Satyam Bhattacharya. Satyam, who is equally eloquent on stage and in front of the camera, will play a meaty role in the seventh edition of the ‘Eken Babu’ series, directed by Joydeep Mukherjee.
Satyam is now one of the most sought-after actors of Tollywood.His recently premiered mystery thriller ‘The Nandini Murder Case’, directed by Abhinandan Dutta managed to catch the attention of the audience. Meanwhile, he has a few meaty offers in his kitty including the one which will mark his presence in the ‘Eken Babu’ series. Satyam has been a part of movies like ‘Mishawr Rawhoshyo’, ‘Nirontor’, ‘Gumnami’, ‘Ballavpurer Roopkotha’ and others, and also appeared in OTT projects including ‘Utsober Pore’, ‘Mukti’ and others.
Coming back to the seventh season of ‘Eken Babu’ series, Detective Eken will take the audience on a unique journey soon. Padmanabha Dasgupta is writing the screenplay based on the story ‘Khuner Agey Khun’, from the novels by noted author Sujan Dasgupta, who passed away this year in January. The detective series enjoyed huge popularity not just among readers but also among the audience, after it was adapted first for a web series and then on the silver screen as a movie. While Anirban will continue to play the titular role in the series, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will play Bapi’s character and Somak Ghosh will essay Promotho’s role. The team will start shooting for the series soon. The previous season of the Anirban starrer premiered in December 2022 and received a good response from the audience.
