This Is Us may have ended in 2022, but its influence on fans knows no bounds.
Sterling K. Brown appeared on BBC's The Graham Norton Show on Friday, recalling conversations he'd had with fans of the NBC drama (which presenter Norton, 60, nicknamed a "boohoo bonanza") and revealing that he influenced some viewers to make life-changing decisions.
"People approach me..." "Usually, the first thing This Is Us fans want is a hug," he informed the host."They'll talk about how the show changed their lives or just provided them with some form of catharsis as they were going through something."
“It's really lovely,” Brown, 47, continued. “Like, I never knew that it was going to have the impact that it did. I knew it was a great story with a great group of people, but to see how it affected people in the world."
The actor went on to enumerate some of the ways the show has moved fans, making Norton's mouth drop.

"I've had women come up to me with adopted babies saying, 'I adopted this child because of you,'" he told me.
The actor also revealed that a fan once told him that they resigned their job because of him — or, more specifically, Randall Pearson, his character on This Is Us.
"He said, like, 'I was already on the fence and because Randall had the courage to do it then I dared to do it too," Brown was quoted as saying. "I said, 'I never told you to do that,'" he quipped.

Brown reflected on the show's six-season run from 2016 to 2022, saying, "At a time when things are so divided in the United States, it felt like people were able to come together and say, 'You know what?'" "I love my family."
"And this show was all about family, so at least it brought people together for like a little bit," he said.
Brown has acted in various productions since the end of the famous NBC drama, which also starred Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley, including American Fiction, for which he was just nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.
