Devayani Raaja Kumaran joins the cast of ‘Maari’; says, "I am excited to be a part of the show"

The popular TV show 'Maari' enjoys a good fan base and receives a good response from the audience. Recently, the show completes 200 episodes. In order to spice up the drama, the show's makers have roped in actress Devayani for a new track. She will soon join the show, which tops the TRP chart, outshining other prime-time TV serials.
Talking about the new appearance in the show, Devayani Raaja Kumaran said, “I am really excited to be a part of such a wonderful serial as Maari.Thank you to the director V. Sadhasivam, and Rathinam Vasudevan sir for giving me this great opportunity, also really eager to act with such brilliant actors like Ashika Padukone, Sona Heiden, and Adarsh. And definitely, I will give my best in the show and keep supporting.”

On the career front, Devayani made her debut in a Bengali film, Shaat Ponchomi. Later the actress made a Tamil debut in the movie Poomani. She also acted in various films, like Kizhakkum Merkkum, Marumalarchi, Udhavikku Varalaamaa, Swarnamukhi, Ninaithen Vandhai, Moovendhar, Vaidegi, Poonthottam, Senthooram Otta Rosa, Srimathi Vellostha, En Uyir Nee Thaane, Pudhumai Pithan. After the N-number films, the actress shifted her carrier to the small screen.

Devayani began acting in the teleserial Kolangal. She played the role of Abinaya, which was quite popular among the Tamil tele-audience. Kolangal made her one of the most successful personalities in the Tamil television industry. And also the show has ended with 1,533 episodes. It was later dubbed into Malayalam also in the same name. Currently, Devayani is a judge on the popular singing reality show.

TV show Maari premiered in July 2022. The serial stars Ashika Padukone, Adarsh, Sona Heiden, Shiva Subramanian, Abitha, and Delhi Ganesh in the lead roles and also has an ensemble cast including Saira Banu, Shabnam, Shyam, Meera Krishna, Mukesh Kanna, Tharun Appasamy, Nisha Yazhini, Ganesh, Anitha Venkat, and Deepa Nethran as the supporting cast. The series was an official remake of the Bengali serial title Trinayani.
The story is about Maari, a simple girl who comes from a small town. And the innocent girl experiences the boon and bane of her power of premonition. She goes on to marry Surya under unusual circumstances and turns out to be his savior.
