Karnataka bandh hits domestic air operations at Kempegowda International Airport, 44 flights cancelled

At least 44 flights were cancelled at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport due to Karnataka bandh. 22 outgoing and 22 incoming flights from Kempegowda International Airport were cancelled by domestic carriers like IndiGo and Akasa Air due to poor response. Some passengers couldn’t reach airport on time due to shortage of cabs. Five protesters standing at ticket counters inside Kampegowda airport were detained by the police. About 50 more pro-Kannada activists detained while trying to reach entrance of airport.
