Kathryn Hahn starrer ‘Agatha’ promises halloween fun and spooky chills

Kathryn Hahn will be reprising her role as Agatha Harkness in Marvel’s upcoming series "Agatha," which promises to be both entertaining and frightening. Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, recently shared some insights about the show on the “Official Marvel Podcast.”

Winderbaum described "Agatha" as a series that starts with the fun of Halloween but gradually becomes very scary and dramatic.He emphasized that although the show initially draws viewers in with its light-hearted and festive Halloween theme, it soon turns into something much more intense. "‘Agatha’ is really fun, but it’s really scary. And it gets quite dramatic,” Winderbaum revealed. He praised Agatha as an amazing anti-hero who will lead audiences on an emotional journey. “It lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.”

The series, Winderbaum noted, embodies a "Marvel brand of scary," meaning it balances fun with deadly stakes, making for a thrilling and dangerous ride. "It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one," he added, underscoring the show's potential to mix light-hearted elements with intense, dramatic moments.
Kathryn Hahn leads the cast, reprising her Emmy-nominated role as Agatha Harkness. Although specific plot details remain under wraps, it is known that the show continues the story from "WandaVision," where Agatha was rendered powerless by Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. The cast also includes Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp. "WandaVision" showrunner Jac Schaeffer is at the helm of this spinoff, ensuring continuity and depth to Agatha’s storyline.
Winderbaum’s comments have raised expectations for "Agatha," especially among fans who enjoyed the mix of humor and horror in "WandaVision." The new series is set to debut on Disney+ on September 18, and promises to deliver a unique blend of scares and fun, drawing viewers into Agatha Harkness’s world.
In addition to "Agatha," Winderbaum briefly mentioned the upcoming limited series "Daredevil: Born Again." This series will mark the full-fledged return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, following his brief appearances in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects such as "Spider-Man: No Way Home," "Echo," and "She-Hulk."
