Woman jogger in intensive care after wolf attack in French animal park

A 36-year-old woman is currently in intensive care after being attacked by wolves while jogging in Thoiry, an animal park located approximately 40km (25 miles) west of Paris, BBC reported.
The incident occurred early on Sunday when the victim, who was staying at a lodge within the park, inadvertently entered the main safari zone, which is exclusively reserved for vehicles.
The woman was attacked by three arctic wolves and sustained severe bites to her neck, back, and one of her legs. Thoiry is a popular wildlife park in France, housing around 800 animals that are allowed to roam freely while visitors observe them from the safety of their vehicles.
The park provides accommodation near the wolf and bear enclosures, with the lodge area secured by electric fences and ditches, as reported by France Info news site.
It remains unclear why the woman ventured into the car-only safari zone. Park authorities have not yet provided any official statement regarding the incident. "We do not know at this stage whether the guest made a mistake or whether there was a problem with the signposts," an unnamed police source told Le Parisien newspaper.
The woman was rescued after park attendants heard her screams during the attack and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
