This week, the Photocert team had the very special opportunity of sponsoring the IASIU 2024 European Seminar & Expo in Rome. 🕵️ On day 1 we engaged with industry experts during the panel discussion titled "AI and Insurance - Friend or Foe?" Our very own Pasquale shared his insights alongside industry leaders, Feiko Kloosterman (Friss), Ivan Heard (Quantexa), Glen Marr (PwC), Renato Schipani, Marisa Tschopp, Verisk and Ron Vermeulen (Legentic) discussing AI's evolving role in the insurance sector and examining its potential as both an ally and a challenge. Overall, this event truly exceeded expectations. In partnership with the International Association of Special Investigation Units, we focused on insurance fraud investigation and had the opportunity to connect with experts from around the globe. As a bonus, we explored the beautiful city of Rome and enjoyed some incredible food, making it a truly memorable experience 😁 🍝 A special thanks to Quantexa and to everyone who participated and made this event a success. *What we're reading at Photocert* Did you know that cases of insurance fraud using 'shallowfake' technology have increased by 300% year-on-year? Fraudsters are doctoring images to fabricate car crash damage, pushing up insurance costs for everyone. Scott Clayton, the head of fraud at Zurich Insurance, said the company was seeing “more and more” claims that have been manipulated with shallowfake technology. He said: “This is becoming one of the most emerging threats from a counter-fraud point of view. There’s software that is easy for fraudsters to access which can manipulate images. For example, we have seen devices that, if you were to draw a picture of a building, could provide that building with impact damage or a broken window.” Read more in the article below: https://shorturl.at/nzEUX

Here's a brief recap: On April 11th, we had the honor of participating in the BMW Group partner event, where our very own Daniel McCoy discussed the growing role of generative AI in insurance. He highlighted how Photocert's solutions can revolutionize the industry by providing advanced authenticity services. Following this, our CEO Pasquale embarked on a journey to New York to take part in this year's GBIP sponsored by Innovate UK. The trip was a great success, leading to numerous insightful connections and discussions. Last week, on the 25th, we were invited to the AXA XL offices, where we showcased our solutions for their claims and underwriting teams. #FIL2024 Week 1 ✅ Our FIL 2024 kick-off has finally arrived. Day 1️⃣ was spent finding our feet in the driving seat. As our founders settled in to the comfort of Accenture UK & Ireland’s home of Innovation, they heard FinTech Innovation Lab London alumni insider top tips from John Fitzgerald, Felicia Meyerowitz Singh, Kimberley Abbott and were guided through the FIL galaxy with Ian Ellis, before stepping into the driving seat for the next 3 months...at F1® Arcade that evening 🏎️ With expectations set, day 2️⃣ was all about the dates. Every first date has a story to tell, and with 20 dates on day 2, our founders know this is the start of something truly special. We welcomed our experienced mentors to #FIL2024 for a morning of speed dating and organised chaos, before bringing in our Accenture experts to begin targeted conversations and use case exploration. For day 3️⃣, we threw our founders to the streets. With 2 weeks to go until our Meet the Partners event, our founders’ pitches were rigorously tested by the team at Streets Consulting and challenged to articulate the true value of their solutions in 3-minute elevator pitches.
