Where we work
Telangana is situated in the north eastern part of the Deccan plateau, with a geographical area of 1, 12,077 square kilometres. The state is largely dry and semi-arid, even though the Godavari and Krishna rivers flow through it. 24% of the geographical area, spanning 26,904 square kilometres, is forested, with the vegetation being dry deciduous, moist deciduous and tropical thorn with 167 tree and 67 shrub species. The state is also home to around 3 million STs, who comprise 9.35% of the total population.
What we do
We work with the Centre for People’s Forestry across three districts to facilitate the community-led governance of natural resources, and to strengthen the process of CFR recognition.
