In a world where the images we see influence our sense of identities and aspirations, #advertising holds the power to drive positive societal changes. But does inclusion translate to income? Our new landmark study gives a definitive answer to this critical question – Yes. Progressive and inclusive advertising attracts more customers and keeps them more loyal. Prepared by UN Women’s Unstereotype Alliance team and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, the study analyzed data from 392 brands across 58 countries, with contributions from Bayer | Consumer Health, Diageo, Geena Davis Institute, Kantar, Mars, Mondelēz International, Nielsen, and Unilever. The findings confirm that inclusive advertising: • boosts almost 3.5% short-term sales • makes 15% of consumers more loyal • leads to 16% increase in long-term sales I urge the business community to harness the power of inclusive advertising – not merely as a “nice-to-have" but a crucial element of strategic and responsible business strategies.
