Greetings fellow LinkedIn-inites! (Is that a thing? Should we make it a thing? No? I agree. Let's not.) As someone who's been referred to as both an iconoclast and the Joe Piscopo of his generation (Google it, kiddos), I am now on a Gollum like quest for my next precious career opportunity. Marketing, Advertising, and Communications? I can handle the strategy and the creative. Think Will Smith both starring in Men in Black AND doing the hit theme song, Here Come the Men in Black, which sampled "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen. And yes, that little nugget alone makes this post worth reading. As well as learning that with the grace of a trained ballerina, I can sashay between B2B and B2C, content and advertising strategy, and brand creation and rehab. Plus, obscure 1980s SNL actor references aside, I know how to communicate with people of all types. I mean...you're still reading this, right? Wait—don't answer that. Sales? I have successfully launched 21 products that never existed on Earth prior to me selling them. I cannot speak for what I've done in the rest of the Multiverse. Maybe I'm king of a planet where we're all half-toaster, half-gecko. That, too, would be an achievement. Product Ownership, Development, Management? Ohhh, baby. From creative conception to managing the deployment, I've developed apps for the likes of MARS Petcare, Firestone, and the Nashville Public Library. I've even developed and managed products that you literally drink. Like with your face. And mouth. And people loved it. Or they hated it and took revenge by buying more of it, which seems odd, but would garner my respect. So, as the commercial (almost) goes, what can Brad do for you? And if you repost this, I promise that if we ever do become half-toaster, half-gecko, and I am inevitably made king, I will bestow upon you many great lands—or at least some sweet loaves of sourdough.

Be yourself. No matter how odd you think it might be. Being yourself is the only thing that you have and the only thing that will make you contented. Look at these two guys (like a scene from Only Fools & Horses) that I spotted whilst popping to Morrisons (a local supermarket) with my son. There’s a lot here to unpick…but these guys don’t care what other’s do or say. Obviously. We can all learn a lesson from their behaviour though - be yourself and love being it. I was chatting to a friend about this just yesterday. They have their own “things” that they do on social which help establish their personal brand. Some of what they do is professional…some of it is just fun but they are a fun kind of person and they are loving being themselves on these global platforms. So what quirks do you have that might make you interesting to people? What passions outside of work do you have that might impress me (or I might also share)? 💡 Grow a community through emotional selling and what this means 🥂 Some of the largest companies hardly post product images via their social media platforms such as Coca Cola, McDonald’s & even Red Bull. So what are they marketing to get sales? 🤔visit their media platforms and you’ll see 👇🏾 Visit #Red Bull and you’ll see adrenaline and energy. Visit #mcdonalds and you’ll see a good time. Visit #CocaCola and you’ll see joy & happiness. This indeed is a marketing tactic called emotional selling, where brands create an emotional connection with their customers. I believe in this strongly but I also think during the early stages or adoption of your product & services you must collaborate conventional methods but proportion it accordingly to what is working for the business. Something I learned recently that I want to adopt at Motion Shield because that is a strategy that can help you in unlocking tough markets. LinkedIn network... I'm having a vulnerable moment 😬 July was the first time in 10 months I didn't hit my monthly target 🎯 It's been a slow month, lot's of prospects on holiday and a couple deals I was banking on slipped. Even though summer comes round every year, I still find it extra challenging when the pace slows down 😓 But it's super important to consistently remind yourself that sales has ups ⬆️ and downs ⬇️, and sometimes things don't work out the way you expect. I'm really working on separating my sense of achievement from monthly number, but it's tough - especially when you put a lot of time and effort into your role (I know we all do!!) But, I just had a chat with one of my colleagues, and he made a good joke about me not being myself when I'm not closing (thanks Callum McManus!) It reminded me of that famous Snickers ad, but was also a stark reminder that as reps, we are a lot more than our number. So for anyone else that's feeling the dip in pace, this post is for you. It's been such an exciting few months for recruitment at Mysa! We've filled some major positions with incredibly talented individuals that are going to help scale our growth. 🚀 Throughout the recruitment process for these senior level positions, we've had some great takeaways: 1. LinkedIn is a powerful tool for sourcing. It gives you a refined searching tool to have access to a large pool of passive candidates. 💻 2. Keep your mind open for future opportunties that great candidates can fill. Sometimes a five star candidate may not be the right fit for one position, but you know they would be such a great asset on your team. 🤔 3. Always tailor your recruitment efforts to best suit each position (ie: understanding the best return for paid posting outlets). ✅ 4. Dive into data analytics and understand how to interpret or adjust the process from the results (Kudos to Jeremy Grimes for this). 📊 5. Create a genuine connection from the start with all candidates. Recruitment is all about making sure the candidate is the best fit for your team - if you create a genuine, transparent relationship from the start, you'll organically begin to have a deeper understanding of culture fit, alongside technicality. 🤝 It's been a pleasure to be a part of the process of hiring these amazing new team members. They have brought an excitement to our team given their level of knowledge, expertise and drive to make a difference. 🙌 Here's to an exciting year!
