Senate committee hearing

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs held a hearing on Tunnage's nomination on November 18, 2021. The committee voted to advance Tunnage's nomination to the full Senate on December 1, 2021.

Nomination

On September 30, 2021, President Biden announced his intent to nominate Tunnage to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.[1] The president officially nominated Tunnage on the same day.[2]

Tunnage was nominated to replace Judge Russell F. Canan, who assumed senior status.[2]

Tunnage earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Morehouse College in 1990, a J.D. from Duke University Law School in 1992, and an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2000.[1]
