Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
" | What is your political philosophy?
My opponent votes less than 30% of the time. I will vote 100% of the time. He votes against education (teacher's raises), women's rights, saving our environment and against the affordable care act and other measures that would reduce/control health care costs. In addition to voting against women's rights and equal pay and minimum wage increases, he always shows up to vote for lifting gun control measures. I will vote for increasing teacher's pay, improving the environment, fighting for women's rights and increasing the minimum wage. I will also fight for universal health care. Is there anything you would like to add? I have been advocate for many years: 1)I fought an FMLA case that went to the supreme court. Although I won a $750,000 settlement, big business was allowed to have that judgement overturned and the case was then retried. The judge disallowed most of the supporting documentation in the second trial (which happened to be BG&E's own documents). This resulted in me losing that case and filing appeals up to the Supreme Court (writ of Certiorari), which I wrote myself. I spent many hours in the law library preparing this. 2) I assembled a neighborhood group to fight a neighboring business that did follow zoning laws and made significant changes (without permits) that impacted our neighborhood including erecting lighting the equivalent of 3 baseball stadiums (per our lighting engineer and court expert) that prevented us from sleeping for two years. We were forced to sue Harford County Zoning, BGE and Jones Subaru because they would not put shields on the lights without such a suit. It took two years and cost us $60k but we finally prevailed. This should have been stopped with a phone call and should not have required such a suit. 3) I was the VP of our PTA in Fallston Schools for 8 years.[2] |
