Faulk County is one of ten counties located within the South Dakota Fifth Judicial Circuit. The people of Faulk County are served by a circuit court and a magistrate court.

The United States District Court for the District of South Dakota has jurisdiction in Faulk County. Appeals from the District of South Dakota go to the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.[1]
