I am a state senator representing Bloomington and Richfield in the Minnesota Senate. I am running for election to a new district configuration that will include part of Bloomington, all of Richfield and a part of Minneapolis. I am seeking election to continue my work in the Minnesota Senate because I wish to continue to work on behalf of my constituents to find solutions on the issues that matter to them. I am currently the DFL lead member on the Health and Human Services Committee and have also used my background and degree in Electrical Engineering to work on state IT and cybersecurity issues. I am focused on responding to issues constituents face in accessing state programs and take their ideas forward through legislation. I look forward to hearing from residents as I campaign for election in November!

  • I work hard to address Minnesotans' access to affordable health care. I will continue to work to ensure women have the right to access abortion care and reproductive health care.
  • I have been a champion for finding ways to lower prescription drug costs. I was an author of the Alec Smith Insulin Affordability Act in 2020 which has provided a way for people with diabetes to access insulin in emergency situations.
  • I have been a advocate for strong public schools and will continue to fight for full funding. I am also working on creating a better early childhood care and education system where parents have access to affordable child care and providers earn a living wage doing this important work.

* health and human services

  • early childhood care and education and E-12 education
  • addressing climate change
  • passing gun violence prevention legislation
  • keeping our state protected from cyber attacks

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Minnesota

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
