Richard West is the Mayor of Chesapeake in Virginia. He assumed office on November 14, 2017. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.
West is running for re-election for Mayor of Chesapeake in Virginia. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.[source]
West served on the Chesapeake City Council from 2008 to 2017. He began serving as the city's vice mayor in 2016.[1][2][3]
West identifies as a member of the Republican Party, according to his candidate Facebook page.[4]
Biography
West earned his B.S. in secondary education from Old Dominion University in 1974, his M.S. in educational administration and leadership from the University of Virginia in 1979, and his Ph.D. in leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech University in 1998.[5]
