Scott Brister
Scott A. Brister was a justice of the Texas Supreme Court from November 21, 2003 to September 7, 2009. Brister was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Perry to serve the remainder of departing Justice Craig T. Enoch's term. Brister was elected to a six-year term in November 2, 2004.[1][2][3] His replacement was Eva Guzman.[4]
Bildung
Brister graduated from Duke University and Harvard Law School.[5]
Career
In 1989, Brister was appointed to the 234th District Court in Harris County, where he remained until 1998. From 1998 to 1999, he was the civil administrative judge for the Harris County district court, and in 2000, he was elected to the First Court of Appeals. In 2001, Governor Perry appointed Justice Brister chief justice of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals of Texas in 2001, and was re-elected the next year.[5]
