BEUC's new DG Agustín Reyna is taking office today! This is the beginning of a new era for BEUC as consumer groups are more needed than ever. Agustin will continue building on the strong legacy from Monique Goyens who has led the consumer group network for almost 17 years.

The current ENVI Committee's structure and the 'One Health' scope are crucial for effective environmental 🌍 & public health 🩺 policies. Tackling major health threats like antimicrobial resistance, climate change, (re-)emerging zoonoses, and air and water pollution requires an interdisciplinary approach recognising the connection between the health of people, animals, plants, and their environment. This is why BEUC sent a letter to 10 of the ENVI Committee's members, including the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, urging them to keep the current structure. https://lnkd.in/eP59MZ7i

Consumer protection is made out of good laws and business compliance. That's why BEUC and our partners Eurochambres and SMEunited are dedicated to this mission through the Consumer Law Ready training program. We're helping SMEs get the know-how and tools they need to take care of their customers. Last week, we hosted a European workshop in Riga, training our national and local trainers from all over Europe. A huge shoutout to the speakers and to everyone who joined and helped promote consumer rights.  We're making a real difference together! 🙌
