I've been experimenting with the new Copernicus context in Houdini and created an HDA that generates data maps for geometry, which can be used to create masks. This functionality is similar to Substance Painter and Substance Designer's "bake maps" feature. For instance, the "world normal map" can add dust on top of the asset and the "curvature map" can add dirt into crevices. Special mention to my custom-made AO map baker, which, compared to the "Labs Physical Ambient Occlusion", is UV-based and therefore not limited to the number of vertices of the input geometry. www.artstation.com/asr92 #Houdini #Copernicus #COPS #gamedev #gameindustry
