Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Idol Series articles with comments, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Idol Series articles with comments has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Idol Series articles with comments, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. WP:LOTD

[edit]

Congratulations! A list you have been involved with was selected a WP:LOTD for May. You may want to add the ListoftheDayheader or ListoftheDaylayout templates somewhere in your userspace. Other template options are at User:TonyTheTiger/List of the Day/templates. Your list will appear as WP:LOTD twice. If you have any date preferences in May let me know by April 25th.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 19:39, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MOTD needs your help!

[edit]

You're listed as one of our contributors, but recent inactivity in the project has led us to be rather short on mottos. Currently, the schedule only has mottos up to August 12th, and that's only because I just spent half an hour or so filling them in! In order to make sure the project doesn't fold in, we need your help coming up with ideas for new mottos, commenting on active proposals, closing finished submissions, and your input on a new proposal to re-use some of our older mottos when we run out of new ones. Hundreds of editors see our mottos every day; if you can, please take some time out of your normal editing and drop by to help the project out. Thanks for your time. Hersfold (t/a/c) 05:03, 31 July 2008 (UTC) P.S. - You're getting this because you're using User MOTD. If you don't want to participate any more, please remove the userbox. Thanks.[reply]

Motto of the day

[edit]

Hello, I notice you're using one of the motd templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:41, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston

[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in Houston who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 19:58, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

[edit]

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Wiki Loves Pride: Houston

[edit]

You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride 2014, a campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related content on Wikipedia throughout the month of June. On June 21, there will be a multi-national edit-a-thon, if you wish to participate. Here is the project page for Houston: Wikipedia:Meetup/Houston/Wiki Loves Pride 2014. Ways to help? Create or improve LGBT-related articles, host an edit-a-thon at a local coffeeshop, library or other location, or photograph LGBT culture and history in the Houston area. Visit the project page for more information, and if you are interested in contributing, just add your name to the list of supporters or add the results of your work. Thanks for your consideration! --Another Believer (Talk) 20:36, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Vian Dakhil, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ISIL. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your signature

[edit]

Please be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font> tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. Your signature also has misnested tags arising from

<span style="border: 1px solid DodgerBlue;">...<font color="blue">...</font>...</span>

which, properly nested, is

<span style="border: 1px solid DodgerBlue;">...<font color="blue">...</font>...</span>

It's also worth noting that the opening ► is not bold but the closing ◄ is bold, which is probably unintentional.

You are encouraged to change

<span style="border: 1px solid DodgerBlue;"><font color="#0047AB">►</font><font color="blue">Tennis Dynamite</font><font color="#0047AB">◄</font></span> : Tennis Dynamite

to

<span style="border: 1px solid DodgerBlue;"><span style="color: #0047AB">►</span><span style="color: blue">Tennis Dynamite</span><span style="color: #0047AB">◄</span></span> : Tennis Dynamite

Color markup outside a Wikilink is overridden by the default Wikilink colors, so your markup surrounding the two wikilinks, <font color="blue">...</font>, which I replaced with <span style="color: blue">...</span>, has no effect except on this page, where the link to this page is disabled. On every other page in Wikipedia, the following markup will display the same as your existing signature:

<span style="border: 1px solid DodgerBlue;"><span style="color: #0047AB">►Tennis Dynamite◄</span></span> : Tennis Dynamite

So this last one would be my recommendation. —Anomalocaris (talk) 17:49, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need a page for one of the American Idol Finalist

[edit]

I'm messaging you to inquire whether or not you can create an artist page for an artist that I currently work for. She was an American Idol top finalist , Olivia Rox, and is releasing her debut album so we really need a wikipedia page for her. So if you can reach back to me as soon as possible with information on what your fees are and how fast you can publish a page, I would greatly appreciate it.

@Train96:

A tag has been placed on Category:Requests for Idols peer review requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
