This Teacher’s Day, so thankful for having the chance to visit a Teach For India classroom and step into the shoes of a TFI #fellow and facilitate a lesson on #genderequality. It was such an honor to collaborate with an incredible group of engaged, curious, and brilliant students that are well on their way to making an inclusive, gender equitable India. It’s an education program that is making a deep and meaningful impact on learners, their educational outcomes, and life trajectories. We were fortunate to have an amazing leader like ismeet Gulati to visit our classroom. GGHS MAHBOOBIA is an all girls government school in Hyderabad. Being in girls school as a fellow as a teacher I feel so privileged and I hold a lot of priorities. Priority is to not just educate, but also to make them aware and build their souls strong to be great citizens tomorrow. Ismeet took these strong steps to lead my students by bringing awareness about the conflicts an individual can face. Conflicts are barriers with self, society, nature and many more. The outcomes brought out many strong student voices through their writings. A few of the responses were so heart touching. I feel really inspired and heart felt grateful for having such amazing leaders around. Back to the classroom! 📚✏️ This Teachers’ Day, our founder & Vice-Chairman, Sanjeev Bikhchandani along with Pramath Raj Sinha, turned teachers for a day! Sanjeev and Pramath co-taught a lesson on the Art of Persuasive Communication to Grade nine students at a Government School in Delhi. They shared real-world and relatable examples with the students in what turned out to be a fun-filled and interactive session. The students asked questions, replied enthusiastically, and even role-played a teacher to their guests. 📚 Recently, our leadership team in India had the incredible opportunity to step into the role of teachers, sharing their experiences and insights with children from low-income backgrounds in Mumbai and Bengaluru as part of our Teachers’ Day celebrations. This was more than just a day in the classroom. Partnering with Teach For India as part of our CSR programme, our leaders were able to connect with young minds, ignite a passion for learning and help the students envision a brighter future. 💡 It was also about discovering the resilience and optimism of these incredible students. We are proud to support Teach For India and their mission to make quality education accessible to every child. We had a wonderful time when Teach For India invited us to teach in one of their classrooms. SVP India's Chennai Chapter partners Sangeeta Kshettry, Akhila Natarajan and myself had the privilege of teaching and interacting with the students. The curiosity and enthusiasm of the children was amazing, instilled hope in us about the future and in the process of teaching, we learned a lot from our students. I discovered the wonderful abilities of the young classroom- from talented choreographer/dancers, a band of vibrant musicians, and budding theater artists. The comedic play they had put up on jobs and recruitments cracked me up, with spot on dialogues. Much credit to the TFI team for discovering the hidden talents of students and enabling them to achieve their dreams. Thank you for inviting us and giving us this opportunity.
