Over the past weekend, STEM Impact Center Kenya was in Kitui County at St. Anne's Muthale Girls, empowering 40 girls through creative coding sessions in Scratch and VEX Robotics! The sessions included inducting the girls into a new coding club and setting it up for success. Three teachers were also involved to ensure the club's continuity. Supporting schools from low-income communities is a key focus for STEM Impact Center Kenya, ensuring all students have access to technology and 21st-century learning. We appreciate the Scratch Foundation for their support in advancing equitable digital literacy across Kenyan schools through the Scratch Education Collaborative #SEC and to the pioneering St. Anne's Muthale Girls school administration for empowering their girls in this critical field! #Learning #Month: We've just wrapped up our weeks of #learning and #immersion, engaging in #observations, site #visits, co-creation sessions, attentive listening, and #playful exploration. Thank you Scratch Foundation for organising the enlightening in-person #Scratch #Education #Collaborative that brought together QUEST Alliance STEM NOLA STEAM for Vietnam Foundation Barefoot Computing and Rede Brasileira de Aprendizagem Criativa. Our itinerary included enriching visits to the MIT Media Lab and inspiring talk from Mitch Resnick. Your passion to keep seeing hundreds of million children across earth learn through play is humbling. We are glad to be part of this. We equally extend our gratitude to Lesley University for opening their #Steam #Maker #Space to us, providing valuable insights into their programs. This experience has been a true #Easter gift and blessing, igniting our enthusiasm for further collaboration and #ecosystem #strengthening.
