It’s great to see more passengers are choosing to travel through London Gatwick, as we continue to experience one of our best summers yet. In fact, 𝟭𝟵.𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 travelled through the airport in the first half of this year. This represents a 7.7% increase on 2023, as published in our 2024 interim results announced yesterday. It’s important that we provide a reliable and enjoyable experience for our passengers and I am incredibly proud of our teams who have helped us meet 100% of our agreed service metrics. This includes 97% of passengers getting through security in less than five minutes or less, and working in partnership with our special assistance provider, Wilson James, meeting all requirements to help passengers needing assistance. There has also been strong collaboration with our airlines and our partners across the airport, to support passengers at every step of the airport experience.   Our teams have also worked hard to support our commitment to grow sustainably . Our recent announcement of the London Gatwick Hydrogen Hub with Airbus Aircraft, easyJet and Air Products marks a significant step towards zero carbon flights. I’m also proud of innovative initiatives like our GRIDSERVE electric vehicle charging facility and replacing diesel with hydrotreated vegetable oil, driving us closer towards our ambition of net zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030. As the demand for travel continues to increase, and our network of short and long-haul routes continue to develop, we will all build on our vision to be the airport for everyone, whatever your journey. 🇮🇳 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴! We're pleased to share that Air India Limited have announced a brand-new, five times weekly service to Bengaluru (Bangalore), which becomes the fifth Indian destination passengers can fly to from London Gatwick. This new route means there are now 19 direct flights per week between our airport and India, and we're aiming to double connectivity to the country in the next five years. 🎖 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀! (...𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳) Four London Gatwick colleagues had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run the Olympic Marathon, only a few hours before the official race last weekend. Austen Symons, Chirag Patel, Helen Gittens and Simon Burrows were lucky to be picked as part of a ballot for all colleagues in the VINCI network. As well as this unique experience in the centre of Paris, the runners cemented their place in history, as this was the first non-competitive event in the Games' history. A huge congratulations to our London Gatwick runners, and to everyone else involved in making #Paris2024 such a thrilling few weeks.

🆕 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱! 🏥 A new summerhouse for cancer patients has opened at East Surrey Hospital thanks to a nomination from London Gatwick security officer Scott Houghton and a contribution from the VINCI UK Foundation. 💙 Scott's son had previously received treatment at East Surrey Hospital, and felt compelled to continue supporting Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, who received £5,000 for the project following Scott's sponsorship. 🗞 Read more about the project, and which local causes have benefited from the latest round of grants from VINCI UK Foundation in our press release: https://lnkd.in/eWmg95jw
