About us
A family of 25 girls’ schools, including 23 independent schools and two academies, across England and Wales. We have over 3,500 staff, nearly 19,000 students between the ages of three and 18, and an alumnae network of over 100,000 - the largest of its kind in the UK. The third and final day of the International Coalition of Girls' Schools conference saw more fascinating talks by educators shaping the future of girls’ education. This included Norwich High School for Girls GDST Head, Alison Sefton, who spoke about the power of networking in her session ‘No Head is an Island’, and James Mutton, Deputy Head Digital Innovation and Curriculum at Putney High School, whose talk on future skills focused on how they’re increasing the number of girls taking computer science. GDST (The Girls' Day School Trust) reposted this
It’s a wrap! Three days of the International Coalition of Girls' Schools GARC programme in-person training have now come to an end. Great learning for the cohort of 2025 and opportunities for C’24 to share their wisdom and experience as well as rehearse their own presentations. What a joy to discover the impact of this programme on teacher development, as illustrated in an example of the “I used to think and now I think” routine here:
